The Grounds

The gates of Colwick Hall were made under the instructions of the then owner, Sir John Musters, and carries considerable intricacies. Having been left forlorn in ensuing years and the site of riot, the gates had gone missing and later to be found in the river. Today it is carefully preserved at Nottingham Museum.

Colwick Hall is located at the end of a private driveway alongside Nottingham racecourse and is amongst beautiful countryside with extensive parkland, a lake, river trent and the marina. Breathtaking views of the south facing façade stretch across the landscaped lawn and fountains and is lined with trees along the river bank.

There is so much to explore at Colwick, from horse riding on the bridle paths alongside the grounds of the hall, to fishing, and sailing and watersports. At the turn of the 20th Century, Colwick Hall was an Ideal Resort with its own menagerie distinctive collection of birds.
