Wizarding Afternoon Tea…..EXTENDED!!!

We survived hurricane Ophelia….

And our wizarding afternoon tea has been extended!!!!

I write to you just after a most magical Monday in October when skies needed no Instagram filter and cars lay having been coated by Saharan Desert sand.

Dark wizards have turned the sun red. Sitting in the cupboard under the Grand staircase, are the rest of our Byron’s team trying to hide without making a sound. Walking in, to the tune of ‘I put a spell on you’, witches (sporting house ties and capes) fly in on their broomsticks armed with Fred and George’s dangerous toys to delight all the new first years.

The Wizarding Afternoon Tea has been spellbinding. Comprising fresh fruit scones dusted with ruby powder and served with fresh clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a selection of savoury sandwiches, for the first course. Wizards and witches’ tastebuds are tantalised with a pea and mint potion, pumpkin pasty (which packs a punch) and a cheese wand for good measure, making the intermediate course simply moreish. The sweet slate just spells magic, from a golden popcake complete with chocolate work wings, to a butterybeer cheesecake, and a lime infused cupcake with chocolate frog, and of course our very own bleeding Victoria sponge.

Having been featured in Cosmopolitan, Pretty 52 and Metro London, this ultra popular afternoon tea has now been extended until 31st January 2018, much to the delight of many wizards seeking to book a table.

*****
“Fabulous… being vegetarian (no cheese or cream too!), was incredibly impressed with the selection of food the chef had created for me. Attention to detail was brilliant! The decor is sumptuous. Will definitely return.”
